Delfeayo Marsalis, renowned New Orleans trombonist and Jazz musician, headlined the Foundation's first ever
Celebration of the Arts.
One of the goals of the event
was to use music to bring
people of all ages together
to inspire connections and build community...Mission Accomplished! |
 |
An outstanding performance by the Delfeayo Marsalis Quintet (pictured below).

|
Prior to the Quintet, jazz bands from Watertown-Mayer , Chaska and Waconia High Schools performed to an enthusiastic crowd of approximately 130 people at Faith Lutheran Church in Waconia. |

In addition to the outstanding evening of Jazz, all high school jazz bands were invited that same afternoon to learn from Marsalis in an informal clinic setting. It was a unique opportunity to learn from a class-act artist and a gift to local youth from The Community Foundation for Carver County. |

The Community Foundation for Carver County is working to establish a Celebration of the Arts Endowment, providing an opportunity for people to have a direct impact on local arts initiatives. The vision is to award grants and/or scholarships that are focused on creating and sustaining and thriving arts environment for generations. Please consider a gift today in support of the local arts. |
Thanks to those who attended, participated and volunteered to assist with the Celebration of the Arts events.
A special thank you to Faith Lutheran Church and SPONSORS of this event: |
